By offering competitive prices, the company hopes to put pressure on the web hosting industry to change. “We would like to think that by setting our prices significantly cheaper than our rivals, it should force them to lower their prices and match our high standards in customer service, which can only be a good thing for consumers,” said Douglas. Strive Hosting currently has 25 employees who all have experience in the web hosting industry. Strive Hosting will begin to market to United States customers in early 2006, and it is currently catering to the United Kingdom market. Localized customer support centers, located both in the United States and the United Kingdom, and technical support emails responded to within 15 minutes, set Strive Hosting apart from other companies, according to Douglas. The Business Plan, offered for $4.08 (£2.33) per month, includes 15GB of storage and 300GB of data transfer. The Corporate Plan is offered for $7.50 (£5.17) per month, and includes 25GB of storage and 400GB of data transfer.
