UK Site Owner Say They need Better Hosting Services - 2008-03-11 The results of a new survey in UK revelas that businesses say the are increasingly 'failed' by their web hosting service providers, leading to offline web sites and upset customers. The survey is conducted by technology blog IT Pro (itpro.co.uk). It asked UK companies about their web site and the hosting experience the have with their provider. Businesses reported that websites are among their "most important assets", because they communicate with customer through them, do significant part of their marketing. 20% of companies included in survey said they don't receive 24x7 customer and technical support and hace to contact their web hosts during the business hours. The study also found that 40% of those who have access to out-of-hours support are normally put on hold for very long periods. Another 70% of businesses said they have no service level agreement with their we bhosting providers and the web hosts are unaccountable when their website is down. 10% of business website owners said they have average annual downtime of 2 days.
